Résumé

Dans cette communication, on nous présente une étude de cas ethnographique menée dans une école primaire d'un vieux quartier central de Montréal. Elle est axée sur la façon dont les enseignants formulent des suppositions sur le comportement des élèves d'après leurs expériences, dont ils regroupent une population homogène d'élèves davantage selon leurs intérêts pratiques sur le plan de l'organisation que leurs aptitudes et, enfin, dont leurs objectifs et leur situation pédagogique influent sur leur perception du comportement de la classe dans l'exécution de certaines activités.
