Efficacité d'un principe organisateur d'apprentissage en tant qu'élément d'un enseignement modulaire

Résumé

La présente recherche a pour but d'évaluer l'efficacité du principe organisateur d'apprentissage (advance organizer) comme moyen, proposé par David P. Ausubel, pour faciliter l'apprentissage significatif de notions et influencer leur transfert. Cinquante-sept (57) enseignants en perfectionnement ont participé à cette recherche dans le cadre d'un cours de premier cycle universitaire. On a utilisé la formule d'enseignement modulaire pour présenter des notions d'analyse et de modification du comportement. Les sujets ont passé un pré-test vérifiant leur maîtrise des notions enseignées dans la première partie du cours. L'expérimentation a ensuite duré trois heures. Les sujets ont alors étudié trois modules d'auto-enseignement. Une différence statistiquement significative permet de constater l'effet de la présentation d'un principe organisateur d'apprentissage au début d'un module d'enseignement. L'absence de différences statistiquement significatives ne permet pas de confirmer l'effet de transfert de ce moyen d'enseignement. Une critique des résultats fournit des suggestions concernant la poursuite des recherches dans le domaine.
