Les enseignants comme agents de socialisation politique au Québec

L'objectif de cette étude est d'analyser le rôle des enseignants dans l'initiation des étudiants au domaine politique, et plus particulièrement leur propension à intervenir de façon explicite dans ce processus en discutant de questions politiques avec les étudiants. On formula l'hypothèse que les enseignants sont plutôt réticents à s'engager dans de telles discussions. L'analyse a été conduite à partir de données recueillies par questionnaires auprès d'un échantillon d'enseignants des écoles secondaires du Québec. Il ressort de l'analyse que les enseignants n'ont pas tendance à jouer un rôle très actif dans la socialisation politique des étudiants. Contrairement aux craintes exprimées par certains groupes au cours d'une controverse qui a entouré cette question au Québec, la discussion de questions politiques entre enseignants et étudiants n'est pas apparue comme un élément important de la socialisation politique qui s'effectue au sein du système d'enseignement.
