Keywords:
gifted education, gifted identification, educational programmingAbstract
The giftedness construct has implications for (a) procedures for selecting “gifted” learners, (b) program goals and curricula, and (c) labelling of students. Although definitions of the construct vary in applied and research settings, an alternative definition may be derived from theory, from selection instruments, and/or from empirical observation.
