Fantasme et enseignement
Keywords:
psychanalyse, relation maître-élève, plaisir d'enseigner, formation des enseignantsAbstract
As in any other professional activity, teaching involves more than making use of a cognitive activity. It also involves anticipating, organising, and making real the pleasures connected with certain abilities. From this point of view, a few interpretative hypotheses enable us to understand the dynamics of certain school situations. First, nuclear script of fantasy, the re-creation of oneself by re-creating another individual to one's ideal image, activates defence mechanisms against the two risks attached to this fantasy: failure and, paradoxically, success. Teaching can then be considered according to the bodily forms of pleasure: nourishing and depriving, retaining and eliminating, and seducing and being fulfilled. It is concluded that teachers should be allowed to live out their fantasies. It is regrettable that some more or less humanistic, psychology-oriented individuals have led teachers to feel guilty and hence to suppress certain forms associated with the pleasures of teaching.
