Bryan Smith is a Sessional Assistant Professor at York University where he teaches courses on social studies and race/racism/anti-racism. His research explores social studies pedagogy, curriculum theory and anti-racism & decolonizing theory and practice with a specific focus on their application in/to social studies education. As part of this research, he explores the (im)possibilities of using custom web and mobile technologies to facilitate critical anti-racist and decolonizing conversations about place, history and subjectivities within and outside of the social studies classroom.
